    How traffic fines work in Saudi Arabia

    Most Saudi fines are a range, for example 3,000 to 6,000 riyals for running a red light. The first time, you are charged the minimum. The higher amounts are for repeat offences. Fines are recorded by cameras (Saher) or officers and appear in Absher.

    How traffic fines work in the UAE

    UAE fines are fixed amounts set by federal law and are the same in every emirate. Serious offences also add black points and can lead to the car being impounded. 24 points within 12 months suspends your licence.
